It’s the morning of my 4th Day of a ten-day juice fast.  There are so many feelings and thoughts running through my body and my head.  When my eyes opened this morning the very first thing I noticed was my mind was razor sharp and crystal clear.  This is unlike 99% of my mornings when I wake up and my mind is completely in a hazy fog.  Also, for the second time in 4 days I woke up sleeping on my stomach.  This is bazaar as I always sleep on my side due to pain in my back.  I noted it the first day but just thought it was a fluke.  However today when I woke up like that and I wasn’t struggling to breath I definitely knew something was different.  It will be quite interesting to see where the next 6 days takes me.

I did learn one-thing yesterday.  I learned NOT to use a beet without first peeling it.  I’m told the skins can be toxic.  I also learned if a juice tastes horrible just throw it out and start over.  I made the mistake of making myself drinking all of the juice and it was about an hour and a half of cold sweats and willing myself not to throw up.  The good news is at least I ingested the healthy juice.

As I type this blog it’s after 11 in the evening.  The only real hunger I had today was when I was at the movies.  The popcorn smelled heavenly.  Other than that, the hunger has been SURPRISINGLY manageable.  I’m beginning to think I’m not going to get sick from my body detoxing.  That would be wonderful.

So as mentioned in the title and in the previous paragraph I did go to the movies today.  I went to see  “Rise of the Guardians.”  While it seemed to be an OK movie the experience today was very unusual.  I arrived early, strange for me.  Went in and there was a father with his two sons sitting where I normally sit.  So I walked about halfway up and took a seat in the center of an aisle.  Then the father was joined by his mother-in-law, wife and another child.  They were talking all through the previews and I thought OK here we go.  Surprisingly when the movie started they piped down.  Shortly after that a mother came in carrying a baby and three very young sons in tow.  Bear in mind the entire theater is empty except for the one family and me.  She comes all the way up and takes the seats DIRECTLY in front of me.  At first the boys were relatively quiet.  But then when their baby sister started acting up I guess they thought it was OK for them to do the same.  So after fighting myself and trying to stay in my seat and ignore the interruptions I finally gave up and moved up to the second from the last row.  A few minutes later the mother got up with here infant and left the theater.  PLEASE REALIZE that the three boys left behind ranged in age from 2 to 6.  Their mother wasn’t gone more than 5 minutes before the two youngest jumped up and started running in the aisles and up the stairs.  All this running while the theater was almost pitch black.  I had an anxiety attack so I got up and left.  I told the Manager on the way out that a mother had left her three sons alone in the theater and what the kids were doing.  We turned around and her came the two-year-old through the lobby “mommy, mommy, mommy?!?”  I then left to go to my truck.  As I walked out, there was the mother in a mini-van, on her cell phone, smoking a cigarette, with the infant in her car seat!!!  It’s 2012, don’t parents know that exposing their babies to cigarette smoke can cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)????

Since I came home early I started a bonfire and burned a bunch of leaves.

Until tomorrow…

Robert
